New Year's Resolutions 2014

Hey guys :)

So everyone I know is making resolutions for the new year. I, on the other hand, don't really make resolutions as a month in I tend to break them. However, this year has brought on more responsibilities, such as school work, exams, my DIY business, this blog, and life in general. Right now, I am literally like:

On a more serious note, I've decided it's best to at least set a few goals to keep on track. Here goes:

1. Get fit
It is highly unrealistic to say "I want to become skinny" or "I'm going to the gym everyday" because let's face it, I will probably break that goal after the first week of January. To achieve this goal, I intend to dance more and take more opportunities to perform, as this means more rehearsal time which I actually enjoy. The best way to keep fit is to exercise in a way you feel comfortable in, whether it's running, swimming, football, what ever works for you
Get healthy :D

2. Put more effort when doing things
100% effort. 'Nuff said.

3. Continue with this blog
Honestly, I didn't think I could even last a day with the whole idea of owning a blog. I'm surprised that I could be writing a fourth post, which is a huge achievement for me :) During 2014, I hope to expand the blog, making it bigger and better, content-wise and appearance-wise. It would be awesome to have more people to share my thoughts with, so if you are reading this post right now, comment down below, follow me on Bloglovin, and share this with your friends!

So...
Hello 2014

Wishing for a good year isn't enough; take matters into your own hands and make it a good year <3 Love you guys and have a good day/night!

'Frozen'

Hey guys :)

Today I'm going to talk about 'Frozen'. I am such a fangirl when it comes to things like Disney movies and 'Frozen' just so happens to be one! If you haven't watched it yet, what are you waiting for?! There mayyyyyy be a few spoilers throughout this post so continue reading at your own risk ;)

Firstly, the music is incredible. Ever since watching the movie, I've had 'Let It Go' by Idina Menzel and Demi Lovato on constant repeat. The lyrics are just so inspiring and my favourite line is "The cold never bothered me anyway". For some reason, it speaks to me; it tells me to continue to do what I love even though the conditions may be hard. I plan to take Design Technology for my iGCSEs next year. People have told me that there will be a lot of coursework, and finding a job so specific will be harder. I know it will be a difficult path, but it's something I enjoy doing. It's strange how one line can have so much depth.

Found this amazing pic on WeHeartIt; credits to the person who owns/made this :)

I also have to admit, Hans' voice is actually good. His transition from speaking to singing in 'Love Is an Open Door' is pretty impressive :)

Secondly, why the heck are Disney princesses so darn pretty? Elsa's transformation in her ice castle really blew me away. I would love to recreate her braid but sadly, I've recently had a haircut so my hair is too short :( Her hair is probably every girl's dream; I definitely know it's mine. As for her dress: wow. Not much else that I can really say. Kudos to the designer(s) of the dress, and all the other outfits. For a tutorial on Elsa's braid, check out disneysstyle on YouTube, where Mindy from Cute Girls Hairstyles did a video with Charity Vance. If, like me, you are too lazy to search it up, here's the video:

Be sure to check out the hair/makeup/outfit video that missglamorazzi created on the same channel inspired by Anna, Elsa's younger sister.

The whole subject of sisterly love was heart-warming, and it teaches a good moral to the audience. Nowadays, most kids tend to avoid their siblings. I argue with my sisters, but in the end we are sisters. We will be there to support each other when we've grown up. This doesn't only apply to sisters, but everyone and anyone out there. Another thing that is so touching is what Olaf the snowman said: "Some people are worth melting for." It reflects a strong bond of love that we should all have with someone.

That scene *sniff*. Taken from WeHeartIt <3

In conclusion, the movie is pure magic. I am so in love with it that the home screen on my phone and the log in screen of my laptop are both pictures of Elsa. If you haven't watched it yet, go watch it and if you have, go watch it again!

Tea in Simply Life

Hey guys :)

So some of you may know a place called Simply Life around Hong Kong. Founded quite recently in 2007, the restaurant serves European-styled bread, pastries, desserts and meals. The place itself has a very rustic-Parisian-cafe vibe which I absolutely adore. The atmosphere is a mix of English and French, hence the European style.

Simply Life in Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong

I may seem like a weirdo for taking pics of a sugar bowl, but in Simply Life they use cubed sugar. This gives the place a slight British feel.

I had tea there today, and tried their Chocolate Coffee tart. It was totally delish! The presentation, as usual, was incredible. The coffee cream on top was light and fluffy, and the chocolate sponge-y base was pretty good as well. My slice was topped with almonds, dried cranberries, and this chip that was made of a type of nut. Yum!

To wash everything down, I had an Orange Homemade Iced Tea. It was surprisingly not too sweet, which was great as most iced teas contain way too much sugar for one girl to drink.

Haha, a slight improvement for a second post :) I've got a few ideas of what I want to post next, so stay tuned!

Just saying "Hey!"

Hey guys :)

My name's Hazel and I'm 13. So... I'm veeeeerrrrryyyy new to the world of blogging. I make DIY projects, and I love to share them to people. What better way than to post it on a blog? So far, I've made bracelets and earrings, bits and bobs.

I took this pic a while back. I saw some plants and the idea swept me away!

Aside from making things, I love music and dancing. It is my total passion. I probably dance like a weirdo but hey, "express yourself", as Madonna once sang.

I'm really terrible at writing long paragraphs and such, if it's something aside from school work. This post is extremely vague, but I guess it's a start :) I hope to post more content later with much more interesting things to say and show. Maybe it'll be a DIY, maybe a diary of the day, or even a rant. I'm thinking this is a place to write down what's on my mind.

See you later...? :)
